Ashoka Paris was founded in Paris in 2018 by Frédéric Vergoz and Gwenaëlle Ferlicot. Its name refers to Ashoka, the Indian emperor of the 3rd century BC who renounced violence: doing things differently without giving up on standards. In 2024, the maison passed to the Attia family, who are growing it as a family maison. The New Edition takes up the lines that shaped its identity.
The Brigitte is a flap shoulder bag that comes in two writings. The Oxymore plays on contrast: smooth Uppeal™ meets recycled microsuede, with two removable straps. The Couture embraces restraint: plain Uppeal™ lifted by a piped topstitch, a finish inherited from traditional saddlery. Each writing comes in Black, Camel, Burgundy, and Bamboo Sand.
Paname is Paris at its most intimate, the nickname Parisians give their city when they speak of it quietly, among themselves. The Mini Paname, a signature piece of Maison Ashoka, is its most everyday expression. Its chain is removable: worn single, doubled on the shoulder, or taken off to carry the bag by hand. Seven colors conceived as a wardrobe: Black, Camel, and Burgundy in Uppeal™, Sand in bamboo-based material, and three lizard-effect colors, Black, Red, and Blue Gray.
The Compagnon is the wallet of Ashoka Paris, conceived as the feminine counterpart of the Brigitte bag, in Couture as in Oxymore. The Zipped Card Holder closes with a zipper that runs all the way around, plain or with a lizard pattern; the Coin Purse is known by its rounded flap and magnetic snap; the compact Men’s Wallet carries only its embossed logo. All are designed in Paris and crafted in our Thai partner workshop, dedicated exclusively to bags and accessories, where each piece is shaped from cutting to finishing.
