At Ashoka Paris, every model is designed in Paris and carries a first name, and the wallet is no exception. There is no need to choose between beauty and conviction. A vegan wallet is judged like any other piece of the maison: by its line, its organization, the way it sits in the hand. The collection brings together two of them, designed for two different uses.
The Compagnon is the Ashoka Paris wallet, conceived as the feminine counterpart to the Brigitte bag, and each Compagnon carries on the writing of a Brigitte. The Compagnon Couture embraces restraint: plain Uppeal™, a piped topstitch inherited from traditional saddlery, and twelve card slots. The Compagnon Oxymore plays on contrast between recycled microsuede and Uppeal™, or bamboo-based material in Sand, in a more compact format with eight card slots. Both close with a zipper and an engraved pull tab, and keep a zipped coin pocket inside. Each writing comes in Black, Burgundy, Camel and Bamboo Sand; the metal finish follows the color, varnished nickel on Black, varnished gold on the others. The full line is gathered in the Compagnon collection.
The Men’s Wallet is a separate, masculine line, more compact. It shows nothing but its material: no clasp, no applied marking, the logo simply embossed into the Uppeal™. Inside, six compartments and eight card slots, with a protective lining that blocks RFID signals. It comes in Black, Navy and Brown, in the Men’s Wallets collection.
Both lines share their material. Uppeal™ is crafted in Florence from apple residue, in the Florentine tradition of working fine materials. Florence is where tradition and innovation meet. Designed in Paris, the Compagnon and the Men’s Wallet are crafted in our Thai partner workshop, dedicated exclusively to bags and accessories, where each piece is shaped from cutting to finishing. Each product page lists the lining composition. To carry only the essentials, the maison’s coin purses and card holders take over.
