Lively

A backpack need not give up on style. The Lively carries the origami silhouette of the Kromatik line onto the back: its angles, its Uppeal™ panels and its faceted fox pull tab. Of the line’s five formats, it is the only one worn on the back. It keeps the hands free for the commute and the laptop protected, staying on the shoulders all day.

Its construction thinks of the commute first. The flat nylon straps adjust to the wearer’s build; the foam-padded top handle lets it be picked up with one hand when it comes off the back. Inside, the padded flat pocket protects the laptop, the zipped pocket keeps the small things, and the back pocket, hidden under two flaps, keeps close to the back what should stay out of sight.

Uppeal™ is crafted in Florence from apple residue, in the Florentine tradition of working fine materials; on the Lively, it dresses the panels, and nylon the body. Unlike the Jolly or the Pretty, it has no all-Uppeal™ version. The backpack is crafted in our Chinese partner workshop. Its dimensions and lining appear on its product page.

To carry a laptop another way, the City slips it into a briefcase and the Jolly into a tote; the Lively also joins our travel bags for short trips. It comes in two colors: Black, which goes from office to weekend, and Navy, an alternative to black without its severity.
