Our House
Ashoka Paris is a luxury leather goods company founded in Paris, convinced that one does not have to choose between beauty and one's convictions. Taken over in 2024 by a Parisian family, it continues what has been built with high standards — and slowly begins to make its own mark. Each piece is designed in the capital, manufactured by artisans selected for their excellence, in Europe, Asia, or even in Paris for the handmade vegan fur. The materials are plant-based, innovative, chosen for their character as much as for their quality: Uppeal made from apple waste, bamboo leather or cereal-based leather. Vegan is not our selling point. It's our starting point.
Why Ashoka?
Ashoka was one of the greatest emperors of ancient India. Marked by the violence of his conquests, he renounced war and forbade the killing of animals on his lands — convinced that the greatness of a reign is measured by its gentleness as much as by its power. This choice to do things differently, without sacrificing excellence, is what the brand has embodied since its creation.
"No animal should be given as food to another." — Emperor Ashoka, 3rd century BC
How we manufacture
Each model originates from a Parisian design and finds its workshop according to its requirements. The leather goods are entrusted to specialized workshops in Europe and Asia, selected for the precision of their expertise. The vegan fur is handcrafted by a partner workshop in Paris, with the finishing level of a haute couture house. The materials are chosen one by one — for their durability, their feel, their character.
A family business
Gwenaëlle and Frédéric founded Ashoka Paris in 2018, with a simple idea: that a beautiful bag does not need animal leather to be desirable. Since 2024, Patrick Attia and his children, Nathanaël and Abigaël, have taken over the house — remaining close to the founders, faithful to what they have built. A transmission, not a break.
