Ashoka Paris was founded in Paris in 2018 by Frédéric Vergoz and Gwenaëlle Ferlicot. Its name refers to Ashoka, the Indian emperor of the 3rd century BC who renounced violence: a way of doing things differently without compromising on standards. In 2024, the maison passed to the Attia family, who are growing it as a family maison. Its menswear comes down to a few pieces, each chosen for an everyday gesture.
The Men’s Wallet shows nothing but its material: no clasp, no metal parts, just a logo embossed into Uppeal™, crafted in Florence from apple residue, in the Florentine tradition of working fine materials. Compact, it holds six compartments and eight card slots, and its lining blocks RFID signals. It comes in Black, Navy and Brown. The Zipped Card Holder closes with a zipper that runs all the way around, in solid or lizard-effect Uppeal™, or in a bamboo-based material for Sand. The Mylo™ card holders, in mushroom (mycelium) material, come in three formats with edges painted in a contrasting tone.
The sneakers gathered here are the maison’s mixed colorways, to be worn by women and men alike. The Matéo, clean and structured, comes as a High-top in Black, White or Burgundy-Navy and as a Low-top in Black or White, on a cup sole with Strobel construction. The Lewis, in White or Burgundy-Navy, sits on a Boflex lugged sole, higher and livelier than the Matéo’s cup sole, and is made for walking. Both use a cereal-based material developed in Italy, in the Italian shoemaking tradition, and are crafted 100% in Portugal, in a large-scale workshop entirely dedicated to footwear.
The Roland is an aviator jacket: a vegan fur lining in the body and sleeves, a relaxed cut, an adjustable collar and ribbing at the cuffs and waist. It comes in Black and Brown. Designed and made in Paris, in a Parisian workshop.
