The Couture favors the right detail over effect. No contrast of materials, no ornament: a silhouette designed in Paris, a flap with clean curves and a tone-on-tone piped topstitch outlining its edge. This finish, inherited from traditional saddlery, reveals itself up close rather than from across the room. There is no need to choose between beauty and conviction; here, the line speaks first. The other writing of the Brigitte, the Oxymore, plays on contrast; this one holds everything in a single material.
That material is Uppeal™, crafted in Florence from apple residue, in the Florentine tradition of working fine materials. Its smooth, satiny surface takes the topstitch without blurring it. For the Sand colorway, the Couture turns to a bamboo-based material, crafted in Florence from bamboo, in the Florentine tradition of working fine materials, and lighter in tone.
The Brigitte Couture is a flap shoulder bag, worn on the shoulder or crossbody on a removable strap cut from the bag’s own material. Inside are three compartments and two pockets, one of them zipped, with an outer pocket on the back. The Compagnon Couture is its wallet and the larger of the two Compagnon wallets: twelve card slots, six compartments including two for bills, a zipped coin pocket and two patch pockets, under the same piped topstitch. It closes with a zipper and an engraved pull tab. Each Compagnon carries on the writing of a Brigitte bag.
Four colors, each one a pair: Black, Camel, Burgundy and Bamboo Sand. The Brigitte Couture Black opens onto a burgundy lining with varnished nickel hardware, and the Compagnon Couture Black echoes that burgundy in its nylon compartments. The Brigitte Couture Burgundy carries the tone-on-tone all the way to the lining; the Brigitte Couture Camel opens onto a sand lining. Camel, Burgundy and Sand come with gold-tone hardware. Designed in Paris, both pieces are crafted in our Thai partner workshop, dedicated exclusively to bags and accessories, where each piece is shaped from cutting to finishing.
