An oxymoron pairs two words that seem to contradict each other. The Oxymore plays on contrast the same way, with two materials: one smooth and structured, drawing the silhouette, the other matte and soft, made for the hand. On every colorway both surfaces share the same color, and touch is what tells them apart. Of the two writings of the Brigitte, it is the more expressive; the Couture embraces restraint.
Like every piece of the maison, it is designed in Paris. The smooth part is Uppeal™, crafted in Florence from apple residue, in the Florentine tradition of working fine materials. On the Sand colorway it becomes a bamboo-based material, crafted in Florence from bamboo, in the Florentine tradition of working fine materials. The second material is a recycled microsuede made from plastic bottles: 61% recycled polyester from plastic bottles and 39% polyester.
The Brigitte Oxymore is a flap shoulder bag with two removable straps, a brass chain with a shoulder pad and a strap in the bag’s own material, for shoulder or crossbody wear. Inside are three compartments and two pockets, one of them zipped, with an outer pocket on the back. The Compagnon Oxymore is its wallet, as each Compagnon carries on the writing of a Brigitte bag. More compact than the Compagnon Couture, it holds eight card slots, three compartments including a bills compartment, a zipped coin pocket and two patch pockets, and closes with a zipper and an engraved pull tab.
The palette runs to four colors, shared by both pieces: Black, Camel, Burgundy and Bamboo Sand. Black is the most graphic, with a silver-tone chain and a powder-pink lining on the bag; Camel, Burgundy and Sand carry a gold-tone chain. The Compagnon Oxymore Black pairs with the Brigitte Oxymore Black, and every color finds its match the same way. Designed in Paris, both pieces are crafted in our Thai partner workshop, dedicated exclusively to bags and accessories, where each piece is shaped from cutting to finishing.
